U-6 3v3 Rules PDF Print E-mail
These modified laws of the game of soccer are used to determine appropriate play for our U-6 players.
  1. The season will run ten consecutive weeks, with each team playing eight games.  All other games must be scheduled through your commissioner.

  2. Each player will need to purchase a reversible jersey.  Matching shorts and /or socks are not required, however may be worn if all members of team are in agreement.

  3. All U-6 teams will be fielded with three players per side.  No goal tending is permitted.

  4. Uniforms include shirts tucked in shorts, socks pulled over shin guards.  No jewelry or metal / plastic hair barrettes.

  5. Each player must play equal time, regardless of practice attendance or ability.

  6. Kick-in shall be used in place of throw-ins. The ball is to be placed behind the line where it went out of bounds.  Goal kicks shall be taken when the ball passes over the end line, and last touched by the offense.  Corner kicks shall be taken when the ball passes over the end line, and last touched by the defense.  All fouls shall result in verbal instruction to offending player, and a direct kick awarded to other team.  The kick shall be taken from the spot where the foul occurred.

  7. At the end of the game both teams should line up at the middle of the field (coaches included) and shake hands (high five) with opposing team.

  9. Home coach to referee first half of game and vice versa second half.
  10. Only refereeing coach is allowed on field.  He/she should help both teams.  Coaches may coach from sidelines.

  11. Referees should call game very loosely stopping play for dangerous play and balls way out of bounds.

  12. Coaches should coach to encourage fun and understanding of game.     

  13. Be sure your goals and expectations are obtainable for 4 and 5 year olds. 

  14. The most important thing that each child should come away with is a feeling of Success and Acceptance.

  15. No official score or win vs. loss record should be maintained.

  16. Game shall be divided into four equal, 10-minute quarters, separated by a two-minute break.  Half time shall be five minutes. Official time to be kept by home team.

  17. Games must start and stop on time with or without late players and/or coaches.

  18. A No. 3 ball is used for U-6 competiton.  Club shall provide each team with game balls on game days.  Each player should be encouraged to bring a ball to practice, but not the games.
